PAC Martha Tilaar Presents: Hair & Make Up Trend 2010 ”URBAN TECHNO”
In less than 4 months, we are welcoming the New Year 2010. As one of the professional make-up pioneers in Indonesia, PAC Martha Tilaar had conducted a research and came up with a new trend for the year 2010, namely Urban Techno.
After reviewing the world's fashion trend, the PAC Martha Tilaar team saw a trend leading towards an urban style with techno nuances for next year. "Our inspiration for the 2010 trend came from the metropolitan city lifestyle. We named the trend Urban Techno; a fusion of all things traditional, practical, everything related to the environment, cultural diversity and social status that chime along with the development of sophisticated technology. From this, we produced light and bright colors, appropriate for the dynamism and the magnetism of urban lifestyle in big cities," Wulan Tilaar, the Deputy General Manager of Martha Beauty Gallery explained.
The Urban Techno theme is a marriage between 2 contrasting color groups: dark metallic and bright electric. "PAC's new make-up collection will feature URBAN element with colors such as dark blue, black, brown, and maroon as well as TECHNO element with colors like lime green, silver, purple, and white," Verly Elinda, PAC product manager described.
PAC Martha Tilaar in collaboration with Puspita Martha International Beauty School presented a seminar on make-up and hair trends for 2010 with the theme Urban Techno.
VIP MUA and Hairdresser
For the 2010 Hair and Make-up Trend seminar held on the 28th of July 2009 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Jakarta, PAC specially invited 2 professional make-up artists from Singapore and Philippines, Yuan Sng and Jomar.
Yuan is a loyal customer/user of PAC. Back in Singapore, he had used PAC products to produce his make-up works. "The urban techno colors are suitable for both day and night look. The key is to maintain health and the smoothness of the skin texture so that make-up can be applied perfectly. Indonesian women should consider themselves lucky to have beautiful eye shapes and great skin tones," Yuan added.
Jomar is known as one of the senior make-up artists in the Philippines; his works have been featured in several television shows as well as print ads. "3 elements that will stand out in 2010 are light foundation, matte cosmetics, and eye make-ups with shiny colors," he explained.
For the hairdressing section, Puspita Martha International Beauty School flown in an international master educator from Pivot Point International, USA. Joakim Roos has become a household name following his world-class achievements since becoming an international educator in Pivot Point headquarter in Chicago in 1990.
Aside from his many international awards and recognitions he has achieved, Roos frequently travels to beauty schools around the world with Pivot Point accreditation to give trainings for the local hairstylists so they too, can have skills with an international standard.
Roos shared some tips for the 2010 hair trends; "Play around with your bangs to put the attention on your eyes, and geometrical cuts with textured backsides. Choose the right haircut that is appropriate with your everyday routines."
Mr. Joakim Ross himself has personally trained stylist-trainers from Puspita Martha International Beauty School such as RIONG ROMEO, UKI PRAKOSO, PETER KHO, and ONE-TEA. They actively participate in international haircutting and hairstyling competitions.
Indubitably, this becomes a plus point for students in Puspita Martha International Beauty School who are enrolled in the hairdressing program. They receive cutting, curling, design, styling, coloring, and up-dos knowledge directly as well as indirectly from practitioners who are experts in their field.
The 2010 Urban Techno Hair and Make-up Trend seminar also featured special performances from Marcel and Dewi Sandra. Alumni from Gading Beauty Awards presented the Fashion and Photography Make-up Show and Hairstyling Demo by Puspita Martha International Beauty School.
This event was held with supports from Puspita Martha International Beauty School, Pivot Point International, and L’Oreal Professional.
